It's kinda crazy that this is so divisive, to be honest. You knew this was coming, right? You know who Drake is, so there’s no reason to give an intro. Drake’s been dropping a project a year since 2015, and that period has had Drake’s highs and lows of his career. Personally, I’ve been wanting a full album of R&B tracks like “Passionfruit” for a very long time, and I hoped for that in last year’s Certified Lover Boy , but even if we didn’t get that, I still didn’t mind it. I mean, an album titled A SUMMER WITHOUT YOU should be a great, if somber, summer album. It’s no secret that Bad Bunny is one of the biggest names not just in Latin music, but in music right now. Not to bring up the same comparison from my review of Jack Harlow’s recent album, he’s slowly becoming a Drake-esque figure, and that comes with everything. I actually do prefer Bad Bunny over Drake because I think he’s more creative with his music. I enjoyed his last project, EL ÚLTIMO TOUR DEL MUNDO , quite a bit and I still have it in rotation. Beyoncé is one of the biggest stars on the planet. She’s mainly a singer, but she’s also known for her philanthropy and her powerful influence on politics. Although she’s less known for this, she’s also an actress. While she has been in one of the Austin Powers movies, she most recently voiced Nala in the ‘live-action’ remake of The Lion King . While the movie wasn’t that great, Beyoncé decided to make an alternative soundtrack to the remake, a la Kendrick Lamar and Black Panther. Titled The Lion King: The Gift , it’s Beyoncé’s take on the all-time classic story of the Disney film with a new musical twist. Let’s get into it and see how it is.
