Hear me out for a second. I like Trippie Redd. I personally think that Life’s A Trip is pretty great and shows off his versatility very well. Since then, he’s been on a bit of a decline. His following project, ! , has some decent tracks, but there’s so much filler on there that it nearly cancels out all the good things about it. I can give some points to ! , though, for creating a decent vibe and it at least sounded good. The production was nice, even if his lyrics were a little on the basic side. The quality kind of came up on last year’s A Love Letter To You 4 , but that really wasn’t anything special, either. Now, we’ve come to Pegasus , his often teased project that was preceded with the masterpiece of an EP, Spooky Sounds . It’s quite literal, believe it or not. blackbear has always been in the wallpaper of the music scene. Nothing has really made him stand out, but he’s made a lot of relatively catchy songs that I can admit to liking, but not having on my playlist or anything. Either way, he has a new album out called everything means nothing. I think there have been quite a few singles from this, and that sometimes means that albums can be quite front-loaded with hits. Let’s get into everything means nothing and see what it’s like. everything means nothing is a rap album with R&B, alternative, pop, and the occasional emo influences. Let’s just get the cat out of the bag here: this album is bad. This album, and blackbear’s music in general, is the epitome of white people rap.
